The funeral of John Webb, deceased, took place on Sunday – it was attended by his brother Odd Fellows as an organization and he was buried with the honors of the order. - kbz

John Warner Webb died last Friday, March 25 at his residence on North College Avenue, of a complication of diseases, after a long illness. Mr. Webb was born in Champaign County lll June 1, 1841. On March 15, 1866, he married Mrs. Sarah E. Reed. To them was born one child, Mrs. Olive, wife of Rev. JWJ Collins of the Indiana conference. Mr. Webb united with the ME Church at Mitchell in the year 1872 under the postorate of Dr. John Poucher and continued a member of the same till death.  Mr. Webb was a member of the Odd Fellows; he served in the war of the rebellion from Aug 10, 1862 till July 15, 1865 in the 122nd Reg Illinois Infantry. He was an upright man and good citizen.  The funeral __ Sunday, the Odd Fellows and GAR conducting the burial exercises.
